The Reaching Japanese for Christ Network (RJC) is a place for you to create synergies with other Christian believers who share a love for and interest in Japanese people, particularly those who come to the United States and Canada on a temporary basis.

Few Japanese know Christ as their personal savior. Less than one percent are confessing Christians, and those who attend a church comprise much less than one half of one percent of the population. With over five hundred thousand Japanese living in the United States and Canada each year as students and workers, now is their best chance to hear the Good News. This is an opportune time for them to consider the Gospel, far away from the social and professional pressures of Japanese society. Please pray for these precious people that God loves so much! And consider joining the RJC network to partner with other believers in reaching out to them.

History and Vision

The RJC Vision is: “To glorify God by partnering together, to give the approximately half million Japanese who (temporarily) reside in Canada and the United States an opportunity to hear the gospel and become disciples of Jesus Christ!”

The beginning of RJC can be pin-pointed to a hot, muggy day just north of Tokyo in August of 2000. The conversations pointed to a need. In the Seattle area there were a number of groups, churches, and individuals who were seeking to reach out to Japanese, and yet there was little connection between these fine ministries. Discussions that day were carried back to Seattle, a committee was formed and the first RJC Conference took place at Northshore Baptist Church in February, 2001. These yearly conferences at Northshore continue to grow and minister to people in the Pacific Northwest and around North America.

Several years ago we began to see that we should not just be sponsoring conferences, but that our primary task should be to help develop effective networks and partnerships around the task of reaching Japanese for Christ. In order to do that, we have changed the name and content of this website to promote interaction and cooperation.

The RJC network seeks to connect people around the RJC vision, to provide resources that will help equip people, and also to help develop partnerships that will result in better helping Japanese come to Jesus in North America and grow in their faith, assisting them to return to Japan as active Christian witnesses.

In order to accomplish these things, this RJC Network website is an important tool. As it develops, there will be an extensive collection of resources here, along with interactive discussion groups, feature articles, blogs etc. Please help us to make it as effective as possible by communicating to us your ideas and feedback, as well as visiting often to be inspired new ideas and collect tools for ministry.

The other major RJC tool is the RJC conferences. There are yearly national conferences and also various regional conferences and events. This provides excellent opportunities to meet new people, gain new insights and form new alliances for ministry. At these conferences you will be equipped by missionaries, pastors, Christian Japanese themselves and other para-church staff who are specialists in the ministry, to carry out the exciting work of sharing the gospel with Japanese.

The RJC Network encourages communication among those interested in ministry to Japanese speakers. If you have upcoming events, outreach efforts, ministry needs or other prayer items related to your ministry to Japanese people, please feel free to email donwright@rjcnetwork.org with the RJC network.

RJC Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
